Why Seeds?

With so many gluten free flour alternatives, why would we make a cracker from just seeds?

Having numerous food sensitivities and intolerances (long story!) I have had to eliminate many foods over a period of about 20 years; some I was able to add back, or eat small amounts once in a while, but many I simply need to avoid altogether, no exceptions.  This really put a damper on my snacking options-and I love to snack! Instead of continuing to dwell over what I couldn’t eat (even many gluten free options just didn’t sit well), I created a recipe that provided me with a super yummy snack, and it was actually good for me!

Why?

Seeds are a natural part of a balanced diet!  We use only organically grown flax, pumpkin, chia and sunflower seeds.  I found that they shared several nutritional benefits:

  • Rich in omega 3 (and or 6)  fatty acids
  • Good source of lignans
  • High in antioxidants
  • High in fiber
  • Excellent source of plant based protein
  • Supports healthy digestion
  • Supports the body’s natural ability to detoxify itself
  • Reduces inflammation in the body

These crackers are safe to nibble on when completing many different types of cleanses and detoxes, and also do well with other dietary plans such as Keto, Paleo, and Vegan
